Knitter's Review
October 25, 2012
On the fairgrounds

The New York State Sheep and Wool Festival is a beloved fall ritual that takes place at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, just up the Hudson from New York City.

For two days, more than 260 vendors showcase enough fiber, yarn, and fabric to clothe a small city. The overwhelm is intoxicating. For those who couldn't be there in person last weekend, I offer a brief pictorial recap.

This weekend in Chicago
Chicago's historic Palmer House plays host this weekend to Vogue Knitting Live, which makes its first-ever stop in Illinois. You'll find workshops and vendors galore, as well as a gala dinner and talk by Debbie Macomber.

In the Forums: Ladder-less Socks
Grand-moogi asks a question we've all faced when knitting socks on DPNs: Is there a trick to knitting with DPNS so you don't end up with a loose ladder of stitches between the needles? How do you deal with this?

As always, I thank you for your readership and your support.

Talk to you next week!
