Knitter's Review

swatching Toft

On the eve of Independence Day in the United States, I thought it fitting to turn our gaze back over to England for just a moment.

Great things are happening with wool there, rather like they are here too.

I've discovered a company called Toft that sources British wool and spins it in Yorkshire for finished objects, charming patterns, and its own yarn line. Shall we swatch?

Coming Up
While we're on the subject of Britain, Unwind Brighton is coming up on July 12 and 13. That same weekend in Lebanon, Missouri, Fiber U takes place at the Kenneth C. Cowan Civic Center. These and hundreds more can be found on our calendar of upcoming events.

Summer Learning
Would you like to feel even more confident about the yarn you use? Want to learn why wool and bleach don't mix, or why that viscose bamboo sweater stretched so badly? Here's $15 off my Know Your Yarn class on Craftsy to help you find the answers. I hope you enjoy it!

New Wool-Working Machine
If you thought we knitters held the patent on creating flexible 3D structures out of wool, think again. A graduate student from the Royal College of Art has created a machine that lets you do it with wool or even paper. Wool shoe soles, anyone?

In the Forums: Road Tripping
Ceil is on a mission to visit the world's largest everything this summer, starting with windchimes and continuing to Casey, Illinois, home of the world's largest knitting needles. Don't believe her?

As always, I thank you for letting me be a part of your knitting life.

We'll talk again on July 17th!
