The glorious, dog days of summer have inspired me—the most ardent of wool lovers—to eye those cottons and linens. I've been swatching a deliciously cool, comfortable linen blend from Shibui Knits called Twig. It's superb for summer, and I'll let you in on a little secret: It still has 12% wool, just enough to please the sheep lover in all of us.

Projects to Support
Just three days remain in Susan Crawford's Vintage Shetland Project crowdfunding campaign. It's a stellar project that represents years of work, which may be why it has already exceeded its original funding goals. Working within the archives of the Shetland Museum, Crawford is painstakingly deconstructing and re-creating patterns for 25 vintage knitwear garments. Hers is a book you'll want to own—and you can, by contributing to the campaign.
