February 21, 2002

What an amazing response to last week's Curse of the Love Sweater issue.

Some of you shared painful tales of sweaters made and relationships lost, while others wrote about lifelong partnerships forged by that very first sweater.

The number of people we've collectively clothed over the years is awe-inspiring. The number of deserving recipients is debatable.

I had my own experience of knitterly betrayal with this week's yarn. How I loved it from afar, admiring its image and expecting a happy life together.

But when I opened the box and pulled out the skein, I was hit with a totally different reality.
