Plymouth Royal Bamboo yarn in a vintage bowl

Welcome back and happy New Year! I hope this finds you well.

While unseasonably warm weather has brought cherry blossoms to Boston and ice-free ponds to Maine, my hands are still drawn to hearty winter woollens. Who better to provide those woollens than Green Mountain Spinnery in Vermont?

This week I look at a new yarn from the 25-year-old community spinnery. It's called Wonderfully Woolly, and let's see if it lives up to its name.

Inspiring Results
The results from our year-end Heifer International fundraiser are in, and they humble me to my very core. Using our online gift registry we've contributed toward 34 llamas, 52 sheep, and 10 knitting baskets—each of which contains two sheep and two llamas. In addition, you also sent contributions totaling $850, which I'll be forwarding to Heifer at the end of this week. My heartfelt thanks to you all for responding so generously to this worthy cause.

In the Forums: Tactile Talk
Knitting is an extremely tactile activity. This week we're discussing the tactile experiences of knitting that we enjoy most, whether it's the dance of the SSK or running our hands across finished fabric. What's your favorite?
