Knitter's Review
October 2, 2008
fibers and flowers

This week I show you the yarn equivalent of a good, basic rollerball pen. It's not the fanciest pen in the drawer but it has a great nib, it'll write on anything, and it makes your handwriting look great. It's far better than a ballpoint pen, but it isn't so fancy that you'll be afraid to use it. Meet Fresco, from Classic Elite Yarns.

This Weekend in Illinois
If you live near Chicago, love yarn, and like supporting your local economy, head straight to the Pulaski Park Field House this Saturday for YarnCon. You'll find a host of indie fiberartists and yarn dyers there, including Sophie's Toes and The Plucky Knitter. You'll also get a chance to meet Franklin Habit, Bonne Marie Burns, Kay Gardiner, and Ann Shayne.

Knitting Treachery
Speaking of Kay Gardiner and Ann Shayne, the Mason-Dixon women have just released their new country music video. Entitled Pardon Me (I Didn't Knit That For You), it's a tale of knitterly deception that would make both Patsy and Elizabeth proud.

In the Forum: Binding Off
Donna is making a shrug and the ribbing really has to stretch. She's frogged once and even went up a needle size, to no avail. What's your preferred technique for creating the most elastic bind-off possible?
